During the Christmas season 2021, our youth decided to collect change for Heifer International. Heifer has programs across the world in 21 countries and has been hard at work for 75 years now. Heifer offers, as the saying goes, the gift that keeps on giving. They supply people with animals that offer an ongoing stream of nutritious food. With a cow or “heifer”, they get the milk. With a chicken, they get the eggs. What’s more the offspring of the animals are given to other members of the community spreading the benefits. They offer a variety of animals to communities and donors can choose what sort of animal they want their money to go towards.
At the end of the season, our youth chose which animals they would like the funds collected to be used on.
